Arrival in Rovaniemi – private transfer to hotel.
Welcome dinner and orientation. If sky is clear, short Northern Lights walk or campfire near hotel (light program, as many flights arrive late).
Start with the classics. Morning visit to Santa Claus Village (meet Santa, cross the Arctic Circle, Christmas shopping).
Rovaniemi city tour (with guide or self-guided) – see landmarks like Rovaniemi Church, Arktikum Museum (tickets included), and local shops.
Northern Lights Hunt #1 – Aurora chasing by car to get the first opportunity for Northern Lights. (We schedule 3 aurora tours in 7 nights spread out on optimal days.)
Guided trip to Ranua Wildlife Park to see Arctic fauna (polar bears, etc.), including lunch.
On return, visit the Arctic Circle Husky Park or a local Sami handicraft workshop (to add a cultural element – e.g., meet a Sami artisan, see traditional clothing, reindeer antler crafts).
Free or optional aurora activity (maybe Aurora Borealis photography workshop where an expert teaches you how to photograph Northern Lights, then you go outside your hotel if lights appear).
Long Husky Safari (e.g. 15km trail, about 2 hours mushing) for the ultimate dogsled experience, through varied terrain with stunning views.
After lunch, gear up for an Afternoon Snowmobile Safari to a remote wilderness lodge. At the lodge, enjoy coffee and pulla (Finnish pastry). Snowmobile back at sunset – an exhilarating ride in changing light. (If a family or those not keen can swap snowmobile for horse-drawn sleigh ride as a calmer option – we note this flexibility.)
Northern Lights Hunt #2 – Another chance at auroras, perhaps this time via a Snowmobile Northern Lights safari (riding snowmobiles at night to a viewpoint or a Aurora snowshoe hike – we can tailor to preference. After two attempts, hopefully you’ve seen the Lights by now, but if not we still have one more later.

Head to the Korouoma Canyon for the frozen waterfalls hike (family-friendly version unless group wants a more challenging trek). Enjoy nature, picnic lunch by fire. Alternatively, in place of Korouoma (especially if some already did it or prefer less physical), do a Wilderness Survival Workshop in a closer forest: learn to build a fire, try ice fishing on a small lake, snowshoe short distance, etc. This is more participatory and educational. We can decide based on group interest.
Farewell Northern Lights Hunt #3 – Last night, one final aurora chase to maximize chances. This could even be a Private tour upgrade as a treat (since it’s the last night, perhaps go with a private guide to a specific spot or even an overnight aurora camp). With three attempts across the week, the odds are high you’ll have caught the Northern Lights at least once – if you did earlier, this can be just a fun night drive and enjoying the Arctic night one more time.
A week in Lapland comes to an end.
Depending on your departure time, we can include a short activity in the morning: for example, a last-minute snowman building with the kids, a quick reindeer ride if someone missed it, or shopping in town for souvenirs. Transfer to Rovaniemi Airport for your flight. Kiitos! (thank you) and farewell with Santa’s blessing.
Note: This 7-day itinerary is very flexible. It’s essentially a private guided tour spread over a week. We can rearrange days (e.g., if weather looks bad for a certain day’s plan, we’ll shuffle activities – one advantage of booking a week package with us!). There is also some built-in leisure time so it doesn’t feel too rushed – important for families with kids and anyone who wants to also enjoy their hotel amenities. We mention that explicitly: “We design the schedule to include some downtime, so you can enjoy a fireplace evening or a short ski on your own, etc. If you prefer non-stop action, we can fill every day from dawn to dusk too!” This communicates that the package can be as relaxing or busy as they want.
Also, highlight any special experiences unique to a long stay: e.g., “During the week, you’ll have a chance to learn a few Finnish words, taste local cuisine (we recommend trying sautéed reindeer and Lappish salmon soup), and truly bond with our guides – you’ll feel like a Laplander by the end!” Such narrative adds warmth to the sales pitch.

My girlfriend and I did the snowmobile and ice fishing tour with David. It was one of our highlights of our 7day trip in Lapland. David took his time to brief us on how to drive the snowmobile safely and responsibly, looked and knew the best places for some nice video/photo shots and great views. The ice fishing and campfire...

Jeremias and Erwin were absolutely amazing!! We saw a fantastic green Aurora (it even danced) on a night with very low probability and lots of cloud cover. Fantastic photos, fire and drink and snacks. We only managed to see such an amazing Aurora due to Jepa’s and Erwin’s dedication...

Nature was a bit tough on us — we only caught a brief glimpse of the Aurora after four hours. But huge kudos to the team for their patience and dedication. They made sure everyone was comfortable and still delivered a great experience overall. You won’t regret going with this company...

Sofia led us on the sleigh combo outing. She was very friendly and provided a lot of information on life in Finland. The reindeer sleigh experience was interesting but was not ‘dashing through the snow’. Reindeer were led by walking leads for about 2km, and the guide at the farm shared info on reindeer life and care...

The first tour was cancelled due to the weather, but we were rebooked at no extra expense for the next day. Tour departed on time and, as we were warned, we had to drive a couple of hours north to get away from the cloud. Our driver guide Sofian was engaging and helpful. He also had access to data which helped him predict...
